Alea Laidlaw

Visiting Fellow, Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security, University of Edinburgh

Alea received her BA in the Science in Society Program from Wesleyan University with concentrations in Earth and Environmental Science and Sociology with a minor in Film. Before Wesleyan University, she studied international development with Thinking Beyond Borders in South Africa, India, Thailand, Ecuador, Cambodia, and Peru focusing on public health, environmental science, sustainable agriculture, and the cultural dimensions of education.

She is a visiting fellow at the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security at the University of Edinburgh in collaboration with the Cara Syria Programme. In this role, she has been involved in stakeholder mapping, focus group meetings, literature review, and questionnaire analysis.
