Dr Bilge Kaan Tekelioğlu

Dr.Bilge Kaan Tekelioğlu was born on 1971. He has been working since 1996 as a qualified veterinary practitioner and an academic veterinary surgeon. He has been consulted a great number of patients ranging from farm, exotic, aquatic, pet and wild animals. He has been working on ‘One Health’ since 1999. He is a volunteer specialist of disasters and survivals since this date. He is working actively on 1999 Adapazarı and 2000 Kaynaşlı earthquakes, SARS 2003-2004 and COVID-19 pandemic at 2020 and since 2017 at conflict zones. At 2002 he has completed his PhD thesis and after this date he has been studying on viral infections diagnostics and medication majorly. He has been a member of European Resuscitation Council since 2004 and is still a Course Organizer and Instructor. He has published scientific papers and books, among which are Horse Viral Diseases, and 4 parts in a lecture book. He is currently finalizing two books on The Viral Diseases of Ungulates and Disaster Management with his colleagues in TR language. He has lectured at state and private Universities. He is a faculty member of Cukurova University Biotechnology Institute. He has directed 6 high budget implementation projects and 2 research projects. He has joined 4 research projects and 1 high budget implementation project as a researcher since this date. He is currently acting as Faculty Coordinator of an implementation project on ‘Animal Health and Trans Boundary Animal Diseases: Essential Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostics & TAD Sero-Surveillance in Northern Syria’, funded by UN-FAO. He is proud to be a member of the team of ‘One Health Field Network’ on new current projects. He has 5 national phase patent applications, 2 of them are on novel Vaccine methodology, 1 is bio-based wound powder with antimicrobial activity and 2 are the special purpose devices associated with medicine and science. He has been working as the Vice Dean of Çukurova University Faculty of Ceyhan Veterinary Medicine since 2018. He is married and has 2 children.
