Professor Geraldine McNeill
Visiting Professor at the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security, University of Edinburgh
Geraldine McNeill trained in Medicine, Anthropology and Nutrition and has carried out research on diet and health in the UK and a number of low and middle income countries. For many years she led the Public Health Nutrition research group at the University of Aberdeen Medical School and Rowett Institute where she was involved in large-scale surveys of diet on children and adolescents and in research on assessment of household food insecurity among women of childbearing age.. Since 2017 she has been a Visiting Professor at the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security at the University of Edinburgh where she is involved in teaching on nutrition for food security and research projects e.g. on the effects of livestock ownership on nutrition and health of women and children in low and middle income countries.
