Dr Zakaria Kassab

My name is Zakaria Kassab. I was born in Syria in 1975, I studied in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Al-Baath University in Syria and graduated in 1998 with a very good degree, then I got a postgraduate diploma with distinction, then I was appointed as a teaching assistant at the university, and I completed my master's and doctorate in Egypt in Ain Shams University, on a scholarship from the Egyptian government. U studied a Masters in the Faculty of Literature / Department of Arabic Language, titled "The Theory of the Creator in Rhetoric and Criticism of the Arabs / A Study in the Light of Production Theory and the Science of Style" and I completed it in 2003 with an honors degree with the recommendation to print the thesis. I studied a doctorate at Al-Alsun College, titled: “Levels of Stylistic Building among the Effective Modernist Poets in Syria in the Second Half of the Twentieth Century / A Stylistic Rhetorical Study” and completed it in 2007 with an excellent degree with first honors. Then I was appointed as a member of the faculty at Al-Baath University. I taught at the University of Aleppo, the University of the Euphrates and at the University of Damascus, and participated in many lectures, seminars and conferences. When the war in Syria broke out, I left in 2014 to Turkey, where I have worked at Afyon University until now. I have completed several research papers and published in international peer-reviewed journals, and conducted several training courses with Cara and other scientific institutions, and participated in some conferences. I have a special interest in Syrian women's issues, issues of displacement, refugees and education in Syria. I worked in the Doha Historical Dictionary for three years until the completion of its first phase. I have worked with Cara for three years in several training courses and completed some projects including: The Food Project in Syria. We presented a research entitled “The Impact of Modernity in Changing the Identity and Roles of Syrian Women in the Food Culture in Syria”. And now I am also working with Cara on a project to develop the quality of education at the Free Aleppo and Sham International Universities. I am also working with the University of London on a training course on displacement and migration issues. I have completed activities at Afyon University, and with Syrian refugees. I have also participated in several conferences, the most recent of which was the Mardin International Conference in Turkey. My research was titled " The Impact of Religious Concepts on Rhetorical Interpretation of Rhetoricists " and will be published in the conference book.
