Özgür Çetinkaya

Researcher and practitioner, Development Workshop Cooperative

Ozgur Cetinkaya graduated from Ankara University, Department of Social Anthropology, in 2002 and completed his master's degree at Middle East Technical University, Department of Sociology, in 2008. He has nearly 20 years of experience as a social anthropologist/sociologist in various social research projects and development programs at the national level. He started his career volunteering in ILO's IPEC (International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour) child labour program in Türkiye. He is one of the founding partners of the Development Workshop, a non-profit social cooperative based in Ankara. His main area of interest and professional expertise is rural development, cooperatives, child labour, especially in agriculture, living and working conditions of seasonal migrant agricultural workers, foreign migrant labour, especially in agriculture, human rights in supply chains in the agri-food sector, and social assessment, including impact analysis and monitoring/evaluation. He continues to work as an expert in projects and programs implemented by the Development Workshop.
