Dr Ahmed Halil has a Masters and PhD in Arabic Language and Literature from Selçuk University, Konya, Turkey. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Higher Institute of Languages, Arabic - Turkish Translation Department at Selçuk University. He was previously Head of the Arabic Language Department at Selçuk University. Dr Ahmed was also an Academic Visitor at St. John’s College, Oxford University. Among other roles, he has served as a translator for Türkpress, as well as a Foreign Trade Executive at Tat Makarnacilik Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.ş. Among his publications are The Short Stories of Walid Ikhlasi, and ‘The demographic structure of Syria and manner toward revolution’, Metropol Dergisi 2017. Since 2018, Dr Ahmed has been involved with a number of workshops and research projects with Cara Syria Programme.
