Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and School Deputy Director of Research Ethics & Integrity

I  have a PhD in Psychology from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh (2016) and a Clinical Doctorate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Italy (2014). I also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice at the University of Edinburgh (2020), PgDip in Cognitive Neuroscience at Oxford Brookes University (2010), as well as an MSc in Clinical Psychology (2008) and a BSc in Psychology (2006) in Italy. I have been working in both research and clinical settings in the area of neuropsychology and clinical psychology since 2008 with a wide range of patients and conditions.

My main research interests are in the areas of Neuropsychology and Global Mental Health, with a focus on cross-cultural psychology/neuropsychology and ethics in global research: https://www.ethical-global-research.ed.ac.uk/.

 I am currently working with international and interdisciplinary research teams, within a global mental health perspective. Current research projects include the investigation of contextual risk factors for poor mental health through partnerships with communities in rural areas of Malawi, developing neuropsychological batteries of tests for ethnic minorities in Scotland, and working on projects focused on food insecurity and mental health among Syrian refugees.
