Dr Samir Alabdullah graduated from the Department of History at Aleppo University in 2007. He then carried out his dissertation at Ain Shams University in Egypt on "The State of Aleppo Starting from the Ottoman Conquest until the end of the rule of Selim II (1516-1574AD/923-982HD).” He gained his master’s degree in 2012. Dr. Al-Abdullah received his Ph.D. from Ain Shams University in Egypt with a thesis entitled "The Political Situation in the Levant under the sovereignty of the governments formed by the Union and Progress Association 1908-1918.” He gained his Ph.D. degree in 2015. He is currently conducting a second Ph.D. thesis in modern history at Selçuk University in Konya.
Dr. Alabdullah has published many papers including research with the University of Cambridge on higher education in Syria, in addition to some research and articles within his specialization in modern and contemporary history such as research on the secret society in Beirut. Moreover, he pursued many training courses with various British universities such as the development of academic skills with the University of Edinburgh, University of Sheffield and Oxford University. He also received training on e-learning with the University of Sheffield. Dr. Alabdullah got a title of “Consultant in Diplomatically and Consular Relations and a Human Rights Activist” from the Geneva Institute. He worked at the University of Necmettin Erbakan in Konya from 2017 until 2019. He speaks Arabic, Turkish and English. He is now working as a Levant Studies Expert at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM) in Ankara.
